Ok, I've just moved all of my scraps into my deviant section, the reason being that no one, as far as I'm aware looks into your scraps section anyway. I think I'm going to start treating deviant art like an online sketchbook rather then a portfolio for me to show my work to a jobs company or something. I'm going to try and make my own site for that, well i said try.
I rather get the feedback from here, i might go into selling at some point but at the moment i don't think my art is that good, so its a long way away.

Anyway...

My little sister wants to get into drawing manga and I've promised to help her over the summer. This is to get her to relax while waiting for her GCSE results, I'm not that good but i have a little bit more knowledge about some series then she does and i own a bit of manga. Plus about four how to draw manga books, a couple of series and several films, so i think we'll be sorted, she's really excited about doing it, she's told me she has so many ideas. I can't draw manga that well but i don't really want to let her down. I think we might be able to do something and we could but its a long shot, i mean we have to get good first, go into publishing as a sister team. Its a long shot but who said i can't dream.

I really hope she gets the results she wants, she finds stuff alot more harder then me, so she gets helpers in classes and extra time in exams. I think she's even had a helper in PE. She finds it harder but she works really hard, i mean she really pushes herself. Yesterday i was told that she been staying behind to do work and once there was a phone call at seven in the evening from her resistant materials teacher asking my mum if he could drive her home. I mean seven?! I've stayed until five. I did tell her her to get as much as she can on her coursework but blimey. She needs 3 C grades to get into sixth form, so i hope she gets them.

Thanks for the reply, I'll try and explain a little more about my project...

I'm hoping to find people in each of the towns I'm including in my project to take photos of the town for me, from their perspective. I'm going to send a disposible camera (or two) to each person and hope that I get it back! I'm mainly looking at the idea of twinning, what it stands for, why we do it etc. But also at the idea that a lot of towns have more than one twin, sometimes 5 0r 6, which is quite strange when you think about it. I'm trying to develop this project but (as I'm sure you understand) you don't always know where a project will take you. I think at first I'm just going to see what people take for me and then decide on a more detailed theme when I get the images back. I may then send out another few cameras asking them to cover this theme.
I know that Middlesbrough is quite an industrial place, and found this interesting, as most (or all) of it's twins have strong industries too, perhpas this will be the twinning link I will use but to be honest, at the moment, I'm not sure.

Just to explain, my reason for using disposible cameras may not seem to clear. Although the quality isn't always great from cheap cameras like those ones I need to make sure that all the images I receive back are in the same format. Some people I have spoken to already want to use their own digital cameras but when I come to put all the images together I want them to look like a set. I won't be printing them out bigger than 6x4 inches so I'm not too worried about clarity.

If you could help me I would send you out a camera later this week, and need it back in about 10 days or so. What do you think?

I'd need you to take photos specifically for me, if that's okay.

Hey, I see that you live in Middlesbrough! I was wondering, do you think you could help me with a project I’m doing? I’ll explain...
I’m from Sunderland University doing a Photography degree. I’ve decided to do one of my projects on Twin Towns, where towns and cities throughout Europe are twinned with each other. At the mo I’ve got someone in Dunkirk, France, and Oberhausen, Germany, taking photos for me and I was hoping to get someone in Middlesbrough to do the same, because Middlesbrough is twinned with Dunkirk and Oberhausen. Would you be willing to give me a hand? I’ll give you more details if you wanna help me.
Send me an email to sally.hoban@sunderland.ac.uk or send me a message back on devART.
Thanks!!
Sally

~swanhild:iconswanhild: May 15, 2007, 7:34:42 AM
I'm really really tired at the moment. Haven't slept really for about four days, i have started mine its just i haven't done alot of work on them but I'm sure it will all work out. Having today off and I'm just trying to chill, Docherty's orders.
Challenge? challenge is good, it makes you feel as you you are alive, but don't worry, you'll be fine. Think positive (i should try that).
